Access to all Libraries' resources and fee-based printing is available in all branches and public service units:
- In the Odegaard Undergraduate and Suzzallo & Allen Libraries, Research Workstations provide access to virtually all Libraries' resources and all Web sites with the following extensions: .edu, .org, .gov, .mil, & .museum. There is no access to anonymous email sites, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! mail, or Gmail or to most .com Web sites.
- In other Libraries' branches and public service units, Internet access may not be limited as in the above Research Workstations. However, the Libraries Policy on the Use of Libraries Public Computer Equipment still applies.
- Additional Internet access on the University of Washington campus is available in the HUB (adjacent to the Information Desk), with 5 computer kiosks which provide complete Internet access with no time limits. Printing is not available from these kiosks.
Locations of Research Workstations
MS Office editing software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is not available anywhere on campus for visitors. There are commercial sites off campus which provide this kind of service for a fee.
Wireless Internet access
is available throughout the campus. Visitors who are able to configure their laptops to use the UW Wireless Networks, may obtain a Temporary UW NetID for Internet access via their laptops while on the UW campuses. Ask Libraries staff about this option.
