The item is currently on the shelf and available to be read in the Libraries or checked out to those with borrowing privileges. Most library collections can be accessed directly and you do not need borrowing privileges to view an item onsite. Call number location guides are available in all library units. If you can't find a book on the shelf ask at the circulation desk about the status of the item.

If you would like a book to be delivered to a library closer to you, click the "Request" button from within the Online Catalog and select a delivery location. The item should be available for pickup within 3-5 business (week) days.

Due [date]

  1. If it is available in another collection you can retrieve it yourself.
  2. Click "Search Summit" to see if another library in our consortium has the item. If so, click "Request This Item" and enter your information when prompted. The item will be delivered to the library of your choosing in approximately one week and you will be notified when it arrives. You can sign up for email notices for quicker notification or check your account to see if the item has arrived.
  3. You can request that the item be returned before the due date by clicking "Request" from within the catalog record. The new due date will be either the current due date (as listed in the UW Libraries catalog) or two weeks from the date the hold is placed (whichever is sooner). Because the return date cannot be guaranteed, delays are possible. Once the item has been returned you will be notified when it arrives. On Hold

  3. You can request that your name be added to the queue of people who want that item by clicking the "Request" button from within the catalog record.
