Use your iPod or other portable media player to help you tour UW campus libraries. You can subscribe to the tours as a podcast, or you can download the mp3 tour files directly.Direct MP3 Download
Click the Odegaard or Suzzallo tour MP3 files and save them to your hard drive. Connect your media player and transfer the files to your audio device as you would a music file. For player-specific instructions, consult your product manual.Subscribe using your favorite podcasting or RSS feed software.
To subscribe, add http://www.lib.washington.edu/ougl/tours/LibTours.xml to your podcast application. Be careful and ensure that the full address is copied. Instructions for adding this podcast to iTunes are below.Subscribing to the Tours in iTunes 6 or later
- Select the tour URL (www.lib.washington.edu/ougl/tours/LibTours.xml) and copy it to the clipboard.
- Switch to iTunes and select Subscribe to Podcast from the Advanced menu.
- Paste the URL into the dialog box and click OK.
- You will now find a University of Washington Libraries listed under Podcasts in the main directory. You can click the GET button next to each tour you are interested in. As new content becomes available, it will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
Technical Requirements
To listen to these podcasts, you need:
- A portable MP3 player (if you want to walk the tour), or a computer with MP3 software.
- Software for transferring MP3 files to your player.
