This source provides an overview of the company's financial and stock performance over the past few years. It also gives some key fundamental data, news and analysis useful in researching a company.

Source for detailed company information, company histories, lists of competitors, financials and news. Also includes industry profiles and comparisons.

Investext (http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/wash_rbw)

This database contains analysts reports for companies and industries. The reports provide more insight into how the analyst evaluates a company for financial and stock performance. They also examine the company in context to its industry.

Factiva (http://www.lib.washington.edu/business/factiva.html)

This is an online service available in the library that contains information similar to what is available in Mergent, but is also contains some value-added features like easy comparison tables between different companies or between a company and its industry.

Mergent Online (http://www.mergentonline.com/compsearch.asp)

Online access to the print editions of the Mergent Manuals, with extensive information on U.S. and international public companies, including financials, stock, properties, joint ventures, subsidiaries, S.E.C. filings, etc..

Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage (http://www.netadvantage.standardandpoors.com/NASApp/NetAdvantage/index.do)

Company and industry information through the online full text for the following S&P publications:   Bond Guide; Corporation Records; Dividend Record; Earnings Guide; Industry Surveys; Mutual Fund Reports; The Outlook; Register of Corporations, Directors and Executives; Security Dealers of North America; Stock Guide; and Stock Reports.

Bloomberg (Foster Library Electronic Reference Area)

This is an online system available at a special terminal in the library that provides a wealth of company and market information. This is the same system used in most brokerage and trading houses except we have the trading function turned off. Do not confuse this with the Bloomberg.com web site, the Bloomberg terminal has much more data than the web site.

Morningstar Principia Plus (Foster Library Electronic Reference Area)

This is a CD-ROM system available in the Foster Business Library that provides mutual fund information. It is located on just one computer workstation, adjacent to the Bloomberg terminal. This service is updated monthly.

Evaluations of free stock research sites on the web. Includes a site screening tool to find sites that contain specific types of information.

Both of these provide good, current company and market news and data.

Wall Street Research Net (http://www.wsrn.com )
JustQuotes (http://www.justquotes.com)

These sites are like a clearinghouse where you can put in a company search and it will provide links to a number of different stock sites on the web.

BigCharts (http://www.bigcharts.com)

If you like to look at charts, this is a nice site. You can customize the charts to provide many different pieces of information, including doing company to company or company to industry comparisons.
